Freeze Tag is easy to explain, needs almost no supplies, and helps children get active before transitioning into the rest of the Activity Day plan.

How To Run It

  1. Choose one or two taggers depending on group size.
  2. When a player is tagged, they freeze in place until another child unfreezes them.
  3. Use a simple unfreeze rule such as a gentle tag or crawling under an arm.
  4. Rotate taggers every few minutes so several children get a turn.

Ways To Vary It

  • Ask frozen players to hold a funny pose.
  • Make theme rounds based on animals, pioneers, or scriptures.
  • Change the unfreeze rule to match the lesson.
